🎧 Product Overview — Listen
Studded Penny Rubber Flooring Roll — R11 Anti-Slip | Heavy Duty | Cut to Any Length
Order exactly what you need — our studded penny pattern rubber flooring rolls are cut to your specified length from continuous stock rolls, available in 1.0m and 2.2m widths and 3mm, 4mm, or 6mm thicknesses. Whether you're laying a garage floor, fitting out a commercial kitchen, or surfacing a gym, this is the UK's most trusted heavy-duty rubber roll flooring for professional and trade applications.
Why Studded Penny Pattern?
The raised circular (penny) stud pattern is the industry standard surface finish for high-traffic rubber flooring. Each stud acts as an independent grip point, channelling water, oils, and debris away from foot contact areas to maintain traction even in wet or contaminated environments. The multi-directional grip means safety performance is consistent regardless of walking direction — critical for busy corridors, workshop floors, and entrance areas.
Technical Specifications
- Slip Resistance: R11 rated (EN 13893 / DIN 51130) — suitable for commercial wet areas, ramps, and industrial environments where R10 is insufficient
- Thicknesses Available: 3mm (light-to-medium duty), 4mm (medium-heavy duty), 6mm (heavy industrial / anti-fatigue)
- Widths Available: 1.0m, 1.2m, and 2.2m — order by linear metre, no minimum cut length
- Colours Available: Black, Battleship Grey, Moonlight Grey, Deep Sea Blue
- Compound: High-density, oil-resistant virgin rubber (SBR/NR blend)
- Backing: Smooth anti-creep underside — lies flat without adhesive in most applications
- Temperature Range: Suitable for use from -20°C to +80°C
- Chemical Resistance: Resistant to oils, greases, fuels, and mild acids
- Weight (approx): 3mm ≈ 3.9 kg/m², 4mm ≈ 5.2 kg/m², 6mm ≈ 7.8 kg/m²
Key Benefits
- R11 Slip Rating: Exceeds standard commercial requirements — certified safe for wet floors, garages, and industrial use
- Oil & Chemical Resistant: The compound is formulated to resist petroleum-based oils, making it ideal for automotive workshops, plant rooms, and production lines
- Anti-Fatigue at 6mm: The 6mm variant provides measurable underfoot cushioning, reducing leg fatigue during long standing shifts
- Cut to Any Length: No wasteful fixed sheet sizes — priced per linear metre, supplied to your exact specification
- Lays Flat Immediately: Pre-rolled stock is manufactured to unroll and lie flat without curling, reducing installation time
- Durable in UV-Exposed Areas: Carbon-black compound provides UV stability for covered outdoor environments (canopies, loading bays, car parks)
- Easy to Clean: Non-porous surface wipes clean with standard floor cleaner; stud pattern prevents pooling
Ideal Applications
- 🔧 Garages & Automotive Workshops — oil-resistant, anti-slip, and durable under vehicle traffic
- 🏭 Industrial & Manufacturing Floors — withstands heavy machinery, forklifts, and chemical spills
- 🏋️ Gyms & Fitness Centres — absorbs impact, reduces noise, easy to clean
- 🐕 Dog Kennels & Veterinary Premises — non-toxic, easy to disinfect, slip-safe for animals
- 🏪 Commercial Entrances & Corridors — high footfall protection with a smart industrial finish
- 🏠 Domestic Utility Areas — utility rooms, home workshops, and outbuildings
- 🚢 Marine & Outdoor Covered Areas — UV and moisture resistant for damp environments
Installation Guide
Studded penny rubber rolls can be laid loose, double-sided taped, or fully adhered with a suitable rubber flooring adhesive. For most applications (garages, storage areas, utility rooms), simply unroll onto a clean, dry, level sub-floor and allow 24–48 hours to acclimatise before final trimming. For permanent commercial installs, use a contact adhesive applied to both the floor and the rubber backing, leaving to tack before pressing firmly into place. Seams should be butted tightly — avoid overlapping. Use a sharp Stanley knife or flooring knife along a metal straight edge for clean cuts.
